It’s a local escape from the busy pace of Tokyo and has become a favorite spot for quiet tourism. Today, I’d like to introduce a charming café I stopped by after a walk through this green retreat: Kajitsuya Coffee Chofu Jindaiji—a place known for its fresh fruit-packed desserts and aromatic coffee. I’ll share my firsthand impressions and compare them with online reviews for a balanced take.

My Personal Experience at Kajitsuya Coffee
Visiting on a Monday at Noon
I visited on a Monday at exactly 12:00 p.m. Upon entering, I was kindly asked whether I preferred indoor or terrace seating. Those who opted for the terrace seemed to be seated first, but I requested indoor seating. After a short wait, I was guided to a spacious table meant for six. Since I was with my wife, we had plenty of room, adding to the relaxed atmosphere.
The interior features beautiful woodwork, including a tastefully carved ceiling .

The drink station offered self-serve water infused with orange and pineapple slices, as well as a second option with mint and herbs—a refreshing and thoughtful .

What We Ordered and Our Impressions
I ordered the “Seasonal Fruit and Seafood Salad” alongside a “Choose-Your-Sandwich Plate.” I selected the Mango Fruit Sandwich and a Tuna Cheese Salad Sandwich .

. The homemade bread had just the right firmness to hold the generous fillings. The fruit sandwich was especially outstanding—mango lovers will appreciate the rich sweetness paired with subtly sweet cream. It struck a perfect balance.

My wife ordered from the Toast & Plate section and chose the Specialty Sausage and Hotel-Style Omelette. Her plate came with thick-cut toast, a soft omelette topped with savory sauce, and a springy, flavorful sausage. Paired with Earl Grey tea, she had a truly elegant lunch (see photo). I had a taste of the sausage myself—it brought back memories of eating street sausages in Frankfurt, Germany!

I also enjoyed an iced coffee, which had a robust flavor and clean finish. It was expertly brewed and paired wonderfully with the sweet mango sandwich.

Atmosphere, Service, and Comfort
The wooden décor created a warm and inviting setting. Tables were generously spaced, allowing for private conversation. Staff members were polite and attentive. The café also offers free Wi-Fi and power outlets—perfect for those wanting to read, write, or work in peace.
What Do Reviews Say? How My Visit Compared
Google and Tabelog Reviews
Most online reviews praise the café’s fresh fruit, generous portions, relaxing atmosphere, and convenient parking. Some note that weekends can get crowded, and there may be a wait during peak hours. Popular items sometimes sell out, so coming earlier is recommended.
My Thoughts Compared to the Reviews
Since I visited on a weekday, the café was calm and not crowded—just as the reviews suggested. The quality of the fruit and the coffee exceeded my expectations. The fruit sandwich, in particular, wasn’t just photogenic but genuinely delicious. It’s one of those rare dishes that looks as good as it tastes.
